Jerry Yang Named Finalist in Desmos Global Art Contest
In February, Desmos announced that they would be hosting it's first annual Global Math Art Contest 2020. Jerry decided that he wanted to submit his Eiffel Tower project into the contest. He chose to go back in and add in the landscape to set his project apart. In all, his project includes 1045 equations. Jerry's project made it through the first round of cuts. He is among the top 20 finalists for his age group. The contest featured over 4,000 graphs from over 100 countries around the world. The winners will be announced June 1st. We wish him the best of luck as he moves on to the next round!

Algebra In Architecture Project - Eiffel Tower
Jerry's submission: "We did a project in my algebra class that asked us to show how algebra is used in architecture. I chose to create the Eiffel Tower because I have always dreamed of going to Paris, France. The project gave me a better understanding of the various forms of linear and quadratic equations as well as an understanding of domain and range."
