Quick Notes!!!

The following are quick reminders and/or deadlines for upcoming events:

  • Portfolios Home for Preview (Grades 1-6) - Thursday, March 17th
  • Science Fair Set Up - Sunday, March 20th - 4pm-6pm

  • Science Fair Exhibition - Monday, March 21st - 6:30pm - 8pm

  • Portfolios Returned to School (Grades 1-6) - Monday, March 21st

Spring Portfolio Conferences - What to Expect

By now you should have signed up for your spring portfolio conference.


This is a student-participation conference and in some cases, even student-led. Your child should attend the conference with you. It is best not to have siblings at the conference.


Portfolio preview (samples of student work coming home) for all students in 1st - 6th grade will be sent home on Thursday, March 17th and needs to be returned on Monday, March 21st.

PSSA Testing Dates & Information

Please be aware of the following dates for state mandated testing:


PSSA English Language Arts - April 11-15 - Grades 3 - 8

PSSA Math - April 18-22 - Grades 3 - 8

PSSA Science - April 25 - 29 - Grades 4 & 8


Please make every attempt to have your child in attendance on these dates to take these assessments. PDE encourages us to share information with our parents; please click here to view the testing information and cell phone policy during the PSSA testing.


Testing is scheduled from 9:00AM-11:00AM on these dates. Please DO NOT schedule any appointments or trips for your child during these test times. Students arriving after 8:50AM will not be permitted to take the test on that day and will have to attend a make up testing session.

Morning Arrival

Please be sure to remember the following regarding morning car arrival:
  • Students should arrive between 8:30AM and 8:50AM. Please plan accordingly on rainy days, as the line is longer than usual.
  • Students should only exit from the passenger side of the vehicle. For safety reasons, we do not want students crossing in front of other vehicles.

6th Grade Promotion - SAVE THE DATE

On Thursday, June 9th, at 6:30PM, our 6th grade students will have their accomplishments and achievements recognized at our Sixth Grade Promotion Ceremony. This year, DARE graduation will also be incorporated into the evening instead of a separate celebration.

Parent Positive Series

April 13, CB West Dr. Ken Ginsberg will be the speaker - Raising Kids to Thrive: Balancing Love with Expectation and Protection with Trust.

2016-2017 Kindergarten Registration

The 2016-17 Kindergarten Registration began on October 26th. For Kindergarten registration information and paperwork, please check out the CBSD website.

School Board Briefs - March 8, 2016

At the March 8, 2016 School Board meeting the Central Bucks School District School Board:


  • Appointed Meg Evans as the Region VII School Board Director to fill the vacant term of Stephen A. Corr. Ms. Evans will be sworn in at the March 22, 2016 School Board meeting.

  • Approved the minutes of the February 23, 2016 School Board meeting.

  • Tabled the minutes of the March 3, 2016 Special School Board meeting because there was not a quorum.

  • Heard the Superintendent’s Report: This Month in Central Bucks video

  • Received the Curriculum, Finance, Human Resources, and Operations Committee notes, and the BCIU Board and Middle Bucks Institute of Technology Executive Council minutes.

  • Approved the March 1, 2016 and March 3, 2016 General Fund check disbursements; the February 23, 2016 Capital Fund check disbursements; and the February 25, 2016 Food Service check disbursements.

  • Approved the nomination of John H. Gamble to serve as the Central Bucks School District representative on the Bucks County Intermediate Unit #22 (BCIU) Board of Directors to complete the remainder of term due to the resignation of CB School Board Director Stephen A. Corr.

  • Approved various personnel items, a foreign exchange student, and staff conferences/workshops.
