Leadership Class Visits GISD

On Wednesday, the Chamber of Commerce Leadership Gainesville class visited GISD and NCTC for education day. Students and faculty from across the district came together to showcase our schools. The day started with breakfast prepared by Mrs Young at GHS, a welcome by Dr. Brasher, and an overview of our campuses by each Principal. Then the students took over! Due to time constraints of the class, tours were planned at three campuses, starting at GHS, then Chalmers, and finally GJHS.

The four GHS students in the Leadership class (Gabby Brasher, Mary Gerken, Alfredo Moreno, Jenny Liu) led the GHS tour. At Chalmers, the Leopard student leaders took groups around their building, and finally four outstanding GJHS students led the tour at their campus. Last but not least, the class was treated to an interactive lesson with the GJHS symphonic band followed by a backstage look and an overview of the Fine Arts program.

Family Fun Science Night

Lee had a GREAT turnout Monday night at the family fun science night featuring Professor Brainius! The families were able to experience an hour of amazing science experiments by professor Brainius and then did a rotation of their own hands on experiments. At the end, tons of science theme door prizes were given away so they can continue learning at home!
