Solar Eclipse on April 8
On Monday, April 8, 2024, the solar eclipse will occur between 2:05 pm and 4:30 pm, with the peak around 3:20 pm. We wanted to share our plan to take necessary precautions and allow students on campus to experience this event safely.
The school schedule will run as normal. Beginning at 2:00 pm, all classes that are often held outside will be held indoors to maintain student safety. Around 3:10 pm, students will be invited to observe the eclipse at their carpool locations. The school has purchased protective eyewear for students, and teachers will review safety guidelines for proper viewing. Carpool will run as normal. If you would like to pick your child up early, please sign your child out no later than 3:00 pm.
If you would like to read more about proper safety precautions for viewing the solar eclipse, please click the link below.

Film Entries Due Date Extended to April 16
Films created using images from Spring Break are very popular!
Attention Summit Filmmakers!
The Summit Short Film Festival is back for a 5th year! This is an optional project that students and families can work together, independently from school. It will conclude with a watch party for our community in early May.
- The festival is open to all students, teachers, and staff.
- Films must be less than 5 minutes long! We've had films as short as 30 seconds before.
- Films can be documentaries or fictional films.
- Films can be live action, voice-over, animated, etc. However, submissions of video games being played will not be accepted unless there is voice over narration or story-telling involved.
- Films should not be violent or contain inappropriate language or content.
- Please refrain from using full names in your credits, if you choose to have them. Use first names only.
- There will be no awards for this Festival.
Films are due by Tuesday, April 16, 2024.
There is more information, including specifics on submitting a film, on the Film Festival website.

Google Classroom
Upper School Families
As we delve more and more into the digital world, there is less and less paperwork coming home. Are you curious about the amazing work your students are completing in class? Remember, all your student's work is available to view through Google Classroom.
If you don't know how to get to Google Classroom or how it works, ask your child to give you a tour. This is a great way to let them feel like the expert and empower them to be responsible for the work they complete there.
