Is there an SEL Lesson You Do with Your Students?

We would like to highlight weekly SEL lessons from our staff on the Monday Morning Mustang. If you have any SEL lesson ideas, please fill out the form below so we can feature you!

On Friday, we held our first FAC meeting of the school year. Based on staff feedback, here are some items we are going to implement this month:

  • WEEKLY SEL HIGHLIGHT in the Monday Morning Mustang
  • SECRET SPIRIT WEEK (More info coming soon)
    • Kahoot Game
    • Staff Shareouts
    • Breakout Rooms to share out with staff and just check in with people.

Looking down the road we want to work on improving:

  • Consistent communication during Distance Learning for both staff and students
  • Pushing out ethical/SEL information for our kids on cheating and other things.
  • Concerns for students widening the learning gap. What ideas or supports can we put in place to help?

Want to be Featured on a Monthly Lesson Highlight?

E-Mail Ryan Maine or one of the deans. In our FAC meeting, teachers mentioned they would like to see some lessons in action. If you have a fun lesson planned, shoot us an e-mail, so we can record some highlights and share with the staff.

Students Coming on Campus to Pick Something Up

Please make sure you let Conchita know or meet them in the front office if you have students coming on campus to pick up any material. We need to make sure we log any student that comes on campus to be as safe as possible.

Substitute Teachers?!

If you need a sub during Distance Learning, here is the protocol:

  • The teacher puts in for a sub on AESOP/Frontline
  • The teacher creates a new Google Meet/Zoom link for the substitute.
  • Post link into Frontline for the sub, and Google Classroom for the students.
  • Post announcement telling students there will be a substitute as well as the lesson for the day.
  • Copy and upload the lesson plan into Frontline for the substitute.
  • The substitute will come on campus, have rosters printed for them, and take roll through Google Meet / Zoom as well as get the students started on their assignments.

COVID Exposure Protocol

Thank you for your support as we navigate through such unprecedented times. I wanted to provide some basic information and clarification regarding COVID protocol.

If you have symptoms and are in the process of testing or test positive for COVID:

  • DO - Call Kina Mattoon, Risk Management/Employee Benefits Specialist ( or 909-595-1261, ext. 31332) or Admin staff as soon as possible. Be prepared to provide any dates that you were on campus as well as names of anyone you came in contact with.
  • DO NOT – come to campus. Kina will provide you with a return date.

If a staff member or student has a confirmed case, possible confirmed case or potential exposure of COVID-19:

  • WE CAN – directly inform any persons that may have come in contact with that staff member or student.
  • Encourage anyone exposed to check their symptoms frequently and inquire about a COVID-19 test with your physician

  • WE WILL- immediately close off any areas that the staff member or student visited
  • Wait for 24 hours, or as long as practical, before cleaning and disinfecting these areas

  • WE CANNOT – give out any personal information (name, job classification, room number, etc.) or designators (gender, grade level etc.) which would identify the staff member or student. Providing this information would be a violation of the Education Code, HIPAA, FERPA, CMIA and ADA privacy policies.

We understand your concerns and your need for information. District, state and federal guidelines are being strictly followed. Please be assured that we are committed to your safety: this includes your physical health as well as your right to privacy.

Per District Policy, if you come on campus, you need to fill out a Google Form and answer two questions. Also, please make sure you move your green magnet to the right side of your name if you are here. This will help us know who is on campus for sanitation purposes and in case of an emergency.

The board is located in front of the W by the administration office. Please make sure you are wearing a mask when you leave your classroom or workspace.

Below is a link to the check in form you need to fill out when you arrive on campus. QR codes were placed in your box and will be around campus.
