Message from the Principal
Hello Farmington Families,
During the months of September and October, we are often talking with students about safety in and around our building. We have already completed our monthly fire drill for September, and our fall tornado drill. When we complete safety drills, we take time to share with students what their jobs are during an emergency-stay quiet so they can hear adult directions, and move their bodies to a place they are safe. We also remind students that every adult at our building has the number one job of keeping them safe. Many students still have situational or "what if" questions, and to answer them, we always go back to any adult's number one job-to keep all kids safe.
Speaking of safety, some staff members have reported that kids that are being picked up and/or dropped off are running around in the front lawn, some getting close to our busses and moving letters around on our school sign. Please work with us to keep all kids safe. You can do this by encouraging your child to stay near you or in your vehicle during these pick-up/drop-off times. Thank you for your cooperation!
Take Care,
Angie Petersen

A Message from our PBIS Team:
A message from our Farmington Elementary PTO:
The FES PTO is collecting email addresses to compile family lists for each classroom. The email addresses will be given to one parent that volunteers as room parent. This is optional, and the email addresses will only be used to organize group gifts for teachers, condolences, etc. If you would like your email address to be included, please email Aimee @ farmingtonelementarypto@gmail.com. Please also indicate if you would like to volunteer for room parent.
We are looking for a motivated, reliable parent to fill a Historian/Social Media PTO position! This person would be responsible for taking photos at events, creating posts in our PTO Facebook group, creating a monthly newsletter and updating the PTO bulletin boards inside the school. Please email farmingtonelementarypto@gmail.com if you are interested in this position!
A Message from our School Psychologist, Mr. Erdmann:
Hello Farmington Family!
Much of my role at FES involves evaluating students who may have disabilities, and helping our teachers best support each student's unique needs. Over the course of the school year, you may hear from me regarding the evaluation process if your student currently has an Individualized Education Plan (IEP), or a Section 504 plan. Here are some useful websites you can look at if you are looking for more information about Special Education or Section 504 evaluations:
https://dpi.wi.gov/sped/families/materials - This link includes information for families regarding Special Education. There are lots of useful links that provide information about students who may qualify for Special Education, district Special Education data, and a list of common acronyms you may hear.
https://dpi.wi.gov/sped - This is the information hub for the state's Special Education program. There are lots of additional links for parent/family resources and rights.
https://dpi.wi.gov/sped/topics/504 - This link includes contact information and frequently asked questions regarding Section 504 evaluations.
If you have additional questions, please feel free to reach out to me with the contact information below.
Thank you and welcome back!
