Peasant Life

Emma Pulido, Violet Shropshire, Jade Jackson

Peasants were at the very bottom of the feudal system. They usually were farmers, but some worked in castles. Peasants rarely owned their own land. Most peasants worked for a lord. They would make an oath of obedience in which their masters would take advantage and let others control the peasant.

Critical Thinking Questions

1) Explain the differences between the peasants and their lord?

2) What were some of the different jobs peasants had while farming and what did those jobs require?
