Elkton Elementary School Memo
October 12, 2020
A Note from Mrs. Palmer
Dear EES Families,
I applaud all of you for your continued support in your child's education. There will be good days and bad days as we journey through these challenging times. You are appreciated for all you are doing.
If you didn't know, your child's teacher is working overtime to ensure your child is engaged in lessons and their learning. This is a new learning curve for them as well, and I am proud of the teachers at EES. Your child is very fortunate to have such a caring teacher.
The RCPS School Board meets tomorrow night, October 12th at 7:00. There will be a discussion and vote as to whether more students may return to school. Decisions will be based on the current data of Covid- cases and if mitigation strategies can be in place. If students do return, it will be an A/B schedule. Tune in to the meeting by going to the RCPS homepage : click below and then find school board meeting documents.

From the Library
Every Thursday, between 3:30 and 6:00pm, families can come to Door #2--the library door--and knock, and Mrs. Talbot or Mrs. Hensley will bring the bag of requested books out to you. We are following the CDC safety guidelines for library books. You may also return library books on Thursdays at that time.
Happy Reading!

Meet Cindi Zodda, an Instructional Assistant
I also am enjoying my continued role as adjunct professor at JMU - guiding and supporting pre-service teachers.......... asthey continue to gain experience on their way to becoming teachers. We all know how good teachers can positively affect the lives of their students and it's yet another opportunity that I have, to stay engaged in a profession that I love.
