Terrapin Tidbits
SY20 TCES Family Issue #27
March 31, 2020
Hello Town Creek Families!
I hope this message finds you well, with all of our Terrapin Families safe and healthy.
This Issue of the Terrapin Tidbits is packed full of information about the continuous learning opportunity we are beginning together.
Town Creek Families, I thank you for your continued support during this unprecedented event. All of our TCES teachers and staff are missing our students, and we hope that you all continue to stay well.
Take care, stay well, and keep smiling.
Kind regards,
Lindsay Brenfleck
Imagine Learning
An Important Note about Assessments:
One of the great features of Imagine Learning is that after taking an assessment, the program determines the appropriate “learning pathway” for individual students. Please allow your child to independently complete the initial pre-assessments and all checkpoint assessments that follow. It is important that accurate information is gathered so that the learning pathway is matched to your child’s ability level.
The icons that they should be looking for are below. They will be using the orange Imagine Math and the blue Imagine Language & Literacy. (Students will NOT be accessing Galileo or Imagine Reading). Students should access Imagine Learning through the Chrome Browser.
How To Access Imagine Learning
Example Elementary Student:
Student Name: Jeffrey Scott Gibson
Student ID: 123456
Student Username: jsg3456 [initials + last four of ID]
Student Password: 123456 [ID]
if ID doesn't work as the password, add 18 [ex 12345618]
*Student IDs can be found printed on the student's report card*
Online Learning Tips for Students
Log on to Clever and your school email daily.
Establish a space where you can work on your lessons. It should be as free from distractions as possible.
Designate a specific time every day when you will complete your school work.
Keep your space and your materials organized.
Communicate with your teachers. Let them know if you are confused or struggling.
When you’re not doing school work, keep up or improve your skills by reading a book, newspaper, magazine, or anything that you find interesting.
Print Resource Requests
If your student is unable to access online content, please email your child’s teacher and Suzanne VerHaagh, attendance secretary, or leave a phone message including:

What to Expect from Teachers
Our teachers will be scheduling office hours and have been asked to attempt to contact each child’s family this week. If you do not receive any communication from your child’s teacher by this Friday, April 3, please email Tammy Ogle, secretary to the principal, to ensure that your contact information is correctly recorded in our school system database. tbogle@smcps.org
As you know, our TCES teachers are outstanding! This instruction can in no way compare to that of our teachers, but it is meant to provide a continuous learning opportunity. We are grateful for your patience as we learn new technology and a new way to facilitate learning. Our TCES students are always our #1 priority.
