Where the Paiute tribe lived and ate

The Paiute tribe lived in the Great Basin in Utah.

Each one of the tribes occupied a specific territory.

A tribe near a lake or wetland usually ate fish.

A tribe near sandy soil ate rice and they scared

animals out of their hiding spots and hunted

them for food and materials.

The Paiute indian named Wodziwob

created a dance called the Ghost

Dance. That was believed by the Paiute

that the dance would reunite with the dead.

The Paiute also believed in “Puha”/Power

They believed that everything had a life source.

It was believed that health, wartime victory, and

weather was attainable through power
