For Your Information & Action
MCAS Graphic Organizers: The DESE-approved graphic organizers for MCAS can be found here. Please feel free to use these in your classes, especially with students who have the graphic organizer accommodation on their IEP/504.
MCAS SPED/504 Accommodations: Middle school MCAS accommodations have been submitted to DESE and 10th grade accommodations will be submitted on Monday 2/11. Any SPED/504 accommodation changes after this should be sent to Lauren once the parents have signed off.
In Danger of Failing Letters: Please complete in danger of failing letters for students who you believe are at risk before February break.
Student Connections Survey: The student connections survey and student list were shared with you on Wednesday. Please direct any questions to Kristen.
Upcoming Scheduling Changes:
- March 14 was scheduled to be science fair, but science fair is now pushed back one week to March 21. March 14 still needs to be a Z day because the scheduled days are pre-loaded into PowerSchool at the beginning of the school year.
- March 26 and 27 are X days for MCAS. The schedules are forthcoming.
Field Trip Calendar:
The field trip calendar is now shared with all. When you schedule a field trip, please complete the following tasks to inform staff of when and who is on the trip: Send an email to hrhsall with the details of the trip (date, time and student list) Add the event to the field trip calendar--please be specific in the subject of the calendar appointment (SMIDY-10th gr. Boston FT) or (MS STUC to Greenfield). In the description section, please add the list of students. This can be updated as students are added and removed.
Staff Shout Outs!
- Thank you to Bobbie Smith, Bill Randolph, Jason Threlfall, Michele McHale, Pat Parent, Gail Mailhott-Foster, Katie Watkins, Christy Parent, Patti Richmond, and Tara Winters for collaborating on MCAS special education and 504 accommodations! Your time and effort is greatly appreciated!

Student Spotlight
Junior of the Week: Aiden Braastad went out of his way to comfort and support a teammate during last week's meet. He was caring, compassionate, and generous and his efforts did not go unnoticed. Thank you Aiden for being a wonderful friend and human being!
Sophomore of the Week: Zeynep Ibic is an exemplary student. She works diligently each day in all of her classes, asks great questions, and shows maturity beyond her years. Keep up the amazing work and you will continue to reap the benefits, Zeynep!
Freshman of the Week: Brie Salomao is always an active participant in class and willing to help her classmates out. She is friendly, kind, and has excellent attendance! Keep it up, Brie!
