From the Middle EMS and ELA

News from the Principal, August 31, 2020

Hello Parents and Families,

WOW! What an amazing first few days we had at EMS and ELA. It felt so good to have our students back in classrooms and see all the great work everyone is doing to keep each other safe and healthy. We look forward to another great week of learning.

A few reminders for parents and students:

  • Social distancing is important in all spaces while on campus (indoor and outdoor). Students need to maintain 6 feet spacing at all times--in the halls, while eating lunch, during recess, and in classrooms.
  • If your student forgets his/her mask or needs to change out a mask during the day, the office has disposable masks available.
  • IDs--last Friday, all students received their IDs during picture day. IDs are required to be worn at all times while on campus.

Also, at this time, we are not able to accept visitors or deliveries. If students forget lunch, masks, chromebooks, etc. we will take care of these needs within the building. We can't allow for drop-offs from parents.

Does your student have an appointment during the school day?

If you need to pick up your student for an appointment, please call our attendance line at 303-806-2300 earlier in the day to leave a message and the time you will need your student. This way, we can have your student ready for you when you arrive. Also, once students leave for the day, their day is done for school and cannot return to the building.

Picture Day was Friday...Make up day will be scheduled soon.

I graduated from the University of Denver with an Educational Specialist degree in Child, Family and School Psychology in June. I am so excited about Englewood's tight knit community, as I am from a small town in Southeast Alaska and strong communication and relationships are extremely important to me. Thank you for welcoming me into the community! I look forward to an exciting year!!

When is it safe to be in-person or remote? (click here)

Englewood Schools uses four metrics (with Arapahoe County data) to determine if we must shift from In-Person learning to Remote learning. These metrics are based on science, facts and the best interests of our students and staff.
