Emergency Room Visit

Kirstin Wright

One summer day, I dropped something behind my gigantic box television. I tried to move it, but it was way too big for a puny first grader to pick up. I moved it too close to the edge and lost my grip. Suddenly, I noticed a huge T.V. was falling on my scrawny leg. I fell off of the bed, and then everything went black.

I woke up feeling just fine and nothing hurt, but I was super scared. I had realized I hit my head on the corner of my sharp, pointy dresser. I was terrified, so I called my mother who was at work and told her what had happened. At the time, I had no clue my head was bleeding. While I was on the phone, I looked down and saw blood dripping from my head. My mom rushed to my house. When she got there, she and I quickly drove to the Emergency Room. We only had to wait for about 5 minutes because my head had a huge gash in it, and was still leaking tons of blood.

When we got there, the washed the wound. Then, before I knew it, I had two staples in my head.

***a few months later***

My mom surprised me when she said," We are going to the doctor to get your staples out." I was shocked to see my head fully healed up. But I still had a huge scar on my head. I got to take the staples home, but I lost them sadly.
