Lockport City School District

April Points of Pride from Superintendent Bradley

Administrative Professionals Day April 22, 2020

A very special THANK YOU to all Lockport City School District clerical staff members for their outstanding work in supporting the mission and vision of improving teaching and learning in the district. These are the individuals who help to create a positive first impression of our buildings and district. They are responsible for helping to keep our schools safer, maintaining accurate data, helping teachers obtain resources, being the right arm of administrators, and are a critical communication link between home and school. While working on the front line can be challenging at times, their efforts toward remaining calm, being professional, and moving the district forward are recognized and very much appreciated.

Virtual Spirit Week

To keep spirits high, Charles Upson Elementary School celebrated a virtual spirit week. Activities included PJ Day, Wacky Sock Day, and Tie Dye Day. Lots of fun and beautiful smiles!

Parade on a Rainy Day

The Anna Merritt Elementary School Learning Community came together to participate in a parade to get students out and greet teachers as they drove through neighborhoods. Personnel from the Lockport Police Department, Niagara County Sheriff's Department, and local fire companies were invited to participate. Students and their parents sat in cars along the route and students held hand painted signs. The dreary weather did not stop bringing sunshine and smiles on students', parents', and staff members' faces!

Aramark Food Service

Thank you to Thomas Heagerty, food service manager, and all Aramark employees for their outstanding work with providing over 92,500 meals to LCSD students during the COVID-19 school closure. 4th Grade District Rap Assignment

Fourth grade students district wide were challenged to create either a melodic or rhythmic Lockport Lions cheer for general music class. It was to have a strong beat/pulse. Students were encouraged to create a background with body percussion and choreography. Here is a great submission from Noah Moran!

Lockport Lions are the best!

Lions pride, it's no contest!

Lions roar and lions run!

Even in quarantine lions have fun!

Lions pride is all over the town!

Because Lockport Lions are the best around!

Michelle T. Bradley, Superintendent

Although we remained apart during the month of April due to COVID-19, there were numerous activities that took place which make us LION PROUD. Everyone is making the best of the situation, staying positive, and remaining hopeful. We will continue to provide continuity of learning for students, a meal distribution plan, and a child care program at John Pound Early Childhood Center. Third quarter report cards will soon be available. Please continue to check our website and your email accounts for updated information from LCSD. Stay safe and be well!
