Week 8 Message from our Principal, Ms. Limon

Rogers Family,

This week is the last of the 1st Quarter. As we close up the first part of the year, students will be taking their Common Assessments. Please help them be ready to do their best by ensuring they get good sleep throughout the week.

Please join us on Tuesday for our first Parent Workshop. There is a morning session at 9:00 am and an evening session at 5:00 pm. This month, the workshop topic will be Personalized Learning and what it looks like at Rogers. For more information, see the event listed below. We hope to see you there!

Our Book Fair opens this week. Books can be purchased at school by students or online by parents. We will also stay open after school on Thursday until 5 pm if parents want to come by with their student (observing COVID protocols) to purchase books before the PTO Meeting that evening. See below for more info on each event.

There is no school on Friday as it is Fair Day. Every student will receive a complimentary fair tickets on Tuesday. Look for your child's ticket when they get home on Tuesday so it doesn't get displaced.

Remember to screen your students at home for COVID symptoms before sending them to school. If you have any questions, call our nurse, Ms. Herrington.

Let us know if we can support you in any way! We Are the Eagles, Watch Us Soar!

House Meeting #2!

House Meeting #2 was such a success!! Grade levels 3-5 were able to meet together while Pre-K -2nd grade stayed within their classrooms to learn chants, songs and the tenets of their house. Empatia learned the power of walking in others' shoes; Incrementum learned their house song describing growth mindset and the "Power of Yet"; House Hath played a game that embodied hard work and persistence and House Lumiere learned about it means to have and show integrity!

Students who completed a House Challenge were recognized for earning their house points and received a reward card and house crest sticker!

Check out more information about house challenges below!

Rogers Amazon Wishlist

As a learning community we want to make sure that our teachers, staff and students feel supported. This list is comprised of items that will do just that. Many items will be used in common spaces to support climate and culture, staff morale, aesthetics of the school or tools and supports for students. Often our teachers or staff members use their own funds to supply such items. It is a running list. Feel free to contribute at any time! As always, any donation is much appreciated,

We Need Your Help!

The Office of Family Engagement has created survey in order to gather input about how we can best serve you. Our goal is 50 responses! THANK YOU!!

IMPORTANT!

The Church next door has reached out regarding our dismissal process. Ridgewood church hosts a Pre-K program that dismisses at 2:30 pm daily. PLEASE DO NOT park in the driveway leading into the church. It is a ONE-WAY drive so if you enter to park INSIDE the lot, you must exit on the other side.

We want to be respectful of the spaces that belong to our neighbors as they also dismiss at the same time.

Thank you SO much for your patience as we get through the construction!

We need your help for Carpool!

During construction, we have very limited space for parking and carpool. We need your help to keep our carpool lines moving safely.

  1. Make sure to stay in your car while in carpool. If you anticipate needing to get out of your car, please park on Lovers Lane.
  2. Please be patient about waiting in the carpool line. If you are finding that you are usually in a hurry every morning, then we ask you to add time to your morning routines.
  3. For afternoons, be aware that the school day technically ends at 3:15. We begin the dismissal process a bit early to ensure that all students are out by 3:15 with the younger students coming out earlier than older students. If you are picking up 3rd-5th students, please come right at 3:15 to give the other parents of only younger kids time to get through. That way you won't hold up the line waiting for your child to come out.
  4. Skipping people in line is not appropriate. We are a team and we want to model for our students what it looks like to treat others with respect.

Thank you so much for your help! If we operate as a community we can keep everyone safe and keep carpool moving efficiently. Construction will last through winter break so we appreciate your mindfulness and support.

Rogers Parent and Family Interest Survey

Please click on the link below and take a quick survey for our School Counselor, Mrs. Zamboanga! Your input and feedback will help Mrs. Zamboanga identify areas of interest or needs that will be utilized as we plan parent meetings, Coffee with the Counselor, and schoolwide events.
