A Week to Celebrate Reading!

Read Across America Week: It has been a fun week with our Read Across America events and opportunities for students. Thanks to so many parents and community members for reading to our classes and participating in our school. Thanks to Mrs. Eaton and Mrs. Morgan for organizing our 30 guest readers on Thursday. Thanks to our Library Team for their work this week and for giving our students a new experience in the library. Check out the pictures below of some of our guests.


Flex Day: Friday, March 10 Friday, March 10 is our last SACS Flex Day this year. Lessons will be posted by 9:00 on Friday and teachers will be holding a class ZOOM at 9:30. This morning Zoom is a Community Meeting time to see each other online and allows students to understand the academic expectations for the day. Teachers will be available online to answer questions in the morning. Flex Days allow teachers time for professional development.	Birthdays at Covington At Covington, we celebrate our students on their birthdays by reading their names on the announcements and giving them birthday pencils and cards. Our practice for summer birthdays is to read June birthdays in March, July birthdays in April, and August birthdays in May. So on March 1, we read those birthdays for March 1 and June 1. If your child has a summer birthday and you want to send in a birthday treat, please coordinate this with your child's teacher and to confirm classroom food allergies. Remember that birthday treats need to be store-made and packaged.	Student Council and Humane FW Covington Student Council is sponsoring a collection for Humane Fort Wayne for the week of March 20-24.
