The Good News
HAPPY NEW YEAR! - St. John XXIII Catholic School
Leadership Message
The New Year is a time of new beginnings and of reflection. We reflect with joyfulness and gratitude on the events of the year; how they have made an impression, encouraged us, influenced us and echoed in our lives. Excitedly with hope and gratitude we embrace 2018 and the rest of the school year. We continue to focus on our students as peacemakers and as leaders and innovators in their learning.
May the miracle of Christmas weave the magic of fellowship, fill our hearts with peace, and the warmth and wonder of the New Year, bring to all our St. John XXIII families, Gratitude, Hope and Joy.
Peace in Christ,
Mrs. Tracy Melnyk, Principal
Valeda House Gratitude
Thanks to you, we were able to donate $2151.25 to this cause before Christmas. I cannot thank you enough. What impressed me MOST about our Valeda House Initiative was the KIDS were the ones who came up with so many wonderful ideas on how they could contribute. From making blankets for the babies, writing prayer cards for the mothers, selling lemonade, selling art...they were committed to making someone's life a little easier. The spirit of "giving" was apparent in this community and as the principal, I am so very proud of each and every one of them.
Thank you to our teachers for teaching the importance of this charity and for giving up much of their own resources to do so. Thank you also to you, the parents, of these fine children whom you have raised to be so thoughtful, generous, loving, and kind.
As St. Teresa of Calcutta said, "It's not how much we give, but how much love we put into giving."
Staff Parking Lot
Please, also be respectful not to park in Win Ferguson's staff parking spots either. Their principal has complained to bylaw that our parents continue to park in their staff lot, too. Let's please try to be good neighbours. Thank you very much :)
