State Testing Announcement

All Woodcreek Middle School students (virtual and on campus learners) must be offered their STAAR, TELPAS, STAAR Alternate, and STAAR EOC assessments in a supervised environment on campus. Each grade level takes different assessments. Please click here to find out which grade level assessments your student is eligible for.

While the grades 6-8 STAAR and grades 6-8 STAAR Alternate tests will not be used to determine promotion to the next grade level this school year, all students must pass all 5 End of Course Exams (EOCs) to graduate high school, and students who are eligible must pass the Texas English Language Proficiency Assessment System (TELPAS) assessments to exit the LEP program. To find out when your student's state assessments will be offered at WMS, check the schedule here. Information about state testing for WMS virtual students can be found here. If you wish to opt your student out of testing, please complete this form and return it to Lisa Campbell at

Please note that, even with an opt out form on file, if your child is present on campus on their scheduled testing day (including makeup days), WMS is required by TEA to offer your child the assessment.

If you have any questions about state assessments, please contact our campus testing coordinator Lisa Campbell at

  • Virtual students wanting to take the test need to report to the campus by 8:20 AM on the morning of their testing date. Virtual students will report to the front entry of the school (door #1) to receive their test room location. When testing concludes at 1:15 PM, virtual learners will report to the front entry to be picked up.
