Weekly Dolphin Newsletter
Week of February 22nd
RPMS Reopening Update (as of 2/22/21)
Dear Dolphin Families,
We would like to provide you with regular updates regarding the reopening plans at RPMS. As we’ve stated in previous correspondence regarding the transition to a hybrid in-person learning environment, we will be moving forward with a support model where our students who return to the building will continue with their current virtual schedule. Students will be in a classroom with one teacher while additional staff will be available to support the learning throughout the day.
Families can request to change their survey response by sending an email to Jewel_A_Sanders@mcpsmd.org by February 25th. Please note that in order to maintain a safe environment with social distancing, students who are choosing to switch to in-person learning will be placed on a waiting list until more room becomes available.
The return to the school building schedule for those who have selected in-person learning is the following:
- March 1st – Autism Program returns
- April 6th – Sixth grade students return (includes students in the LAD program)
- April 19th – Eighth grade students return (includes students in the LAD program)
- April 26th – Seventh grade students return (includes students in the LAD program)
By the end of this week (no later than Friday, February 26th), families will receive confirmation of their selection for virtual or in-person hybrid experience. This also includes families who have requested to change their survey response.
Additionally, we will be scheduling either a webinar or a video that outlines guidelines, safety measures, and processes for students who return to the building. More information will be forthcoming about this venue.
Please know we remain dedicated to the safety and well-being of our students and staff and will work diligently to ensure a smooth and safe transition. As we work to develop the details regarding the safe return of students, we will continue to keep you involved and informed.
