5th Grade: Holiday Edition
Welcome Back Parents!
Holiday Party
Teachers will be providing pizza for the students. Students will bring their own drink.
We are also asking that you send a container of frosting (white) with your students to complete their Ginger Bread Houses! We are also asking for donations of candy, marshmallows, graham crackers, and other decorating options. This will be a fun activity for the students, with a wonderful product for them to take home at the end of the day.
Reading, Writing, and Social Studies
In writing, we are working on a narrative writing piece. "My Favorite Holiday". We have been working on the drafting, revising, and editing process. Papers are due this week. Some students have already turned them in!
In social studies, students will be testing Friday, December 9th on the American Revolution Unit. This will be open notes and they will also be able to use any resources we have completed in class.
Science
Our next unit of study will be alternative energy resources. We will test over this unit on Thursday, December 15th.

We will finish our unit on Financial Literacy- Identifying types of taxes, gross and net pay, and balancing a budget. Our unit test will be Wednesday, December 7th.
