A Note From Mr. Christ

Dear Paddock Families,

I hope you are enjoying your weekend. As the weather begins to turn colder, I encourage you to help your student dress warmly enough for recess. Long pants, sweaters, hoodies, and coats are all important when being outside for 20 or 40 minutes at a time. Sometimes, at recess, students will take off their additional layer and forget to collect it when coming inside. Please consider writing the child's name, room number or something that can identify who it belongs to on the clothing. This can help get the item back to the student quickly and reduce anxiety over lost items or having to search the lost and found.

Have a wonderful week!

Sincerely-

Jason Christ

Principal

Friday, October 29

  • AM K party - 9:00-9:30
  • Parade - 9:30-10:00

The 9:30 Halloween parade will go around the school grounds, starting at the front doors, going towards the playground, up past the car loop cul-de-sac, and then back to the front doors. The PM kindergarten parade, at 12:00, will start on the west side of the playground (near the basketball hoops) and head back towards Mrs. Lascon's room on the east side of the playground.

Please see the letter below for additional details and information regarding appropriate school costumes. Reach out to your student's classroom teacher with any questions.

Family Reading Week

Family Reading Night is virtual again this year. As a result, instead of doing a single reading night event, we are going to do a whole week of reading activities!

Starting on Monday, October 18 through Sunday, October 24, complete reading activities from this choice board. Each day, add up your points and submit them to be entered into a drawing for a $5-$25 Amazon gift card. Happy reading!

Safety Drills

Our first lockdown drill of the year on Friday went extremely well. Students learned about what to do if a hard lockdown needed to be initiated to ensure they remain safe. During the drill, the students stayed in their desks to keep social distancing protocols in place.

On Wednesday, October 20th Paddock students will be participating in our yearly bus evacuation drill. This is a quick drill that teaches students what to do in a bus emergency and allows them to practice exiting out the bus emergency exit. Students who normally take a bus will complete the drill on their regularly assigned bus before leaving for the day. Students who are walkers or car riders will board empty buses, earlier in the afternoon, to take part in the drill.

Masks

Please make sure you are sending at least 1-2 additional clean masks with your child each day. These masks should be well fitting and cover both the student's nose and mouth without the student needing to continually pull the mask up. Having a well fitting mask is imperative to keeping our students safe and limiting close contacts, should a positive case arise. Thank you for help in this.

The General Mills Box Tops program has officially moved to digital submissions (replacing paper Box Tops). Please click on the flyer and follow the directions on how to submit Box Tops that earn your student's classroom money!

Join The Paddock PTA!!

Paddock's PTA is an organization of families and teachers working together to provide an enriching learning environment for our students and a welcoming community for our families. Your PTA membership is used to host school activities, student programs, and school assemblies. It helps our families connect with each other, know what’s happening at Paddock, give parents opportunities to volunteer and provide support to our teachers.
