Principal's Message

Dear Terra Linda Families,

I hope you are doing well and had a safe Thanksgiving Break.

With all of this cold weather and encouragement to stay indoors or away from others for safety reasons, I wanted to encourage you to find ways as a family to keep moving - even if it's indoors. We know that our kids need to move every day. And we also know there are many associated benefits from physical exercise.

Here are some tips to help you build healthy (and fun!) habits into the remote school day:

  1. Start your day by taking a walk or a bike ride. Do you still travel to a different location for school? Then make that trip an active one! Too far to walk? Try parking halfway and walking the rest. Commit to walking or biking 2 days a week and start building those healthy habits.
  2. Take movement breaks in between classes or at lunch time. A brisk walk around the block will get your heart pumping and re-energize you for the rest of your day.
  3. Need to pick up your library holds or free lunch? Bike or walk over to your pickup location and reap the benefits of an active trip while checking off your to-do list.
  4. Play a Brainboost or any dance song and join in as a family. Even a three or five minute dance can get your heart pumping!
  5. Participate in any of the PE videos on Seesaw more than once. Kids can repeat them as many times as they'd like. You can also follow along as a whole family!
  6. Commit to an outdoor walk every afternoon or evening as a family.

Remember, everyone benefits from getting exercise, and our kids need it for their physical and emotional health. Have fun being creative together!

I am hosting another Principal Chat tonight at 6:30 pm. All are welcome!

Student Directory - Opt IN or OUT by 12/11

An online directory of students will be published. It will include your student’s home address along with email and phone numbers for the first two parent/guardians in your child’s enrollment record. You only need to submit the online opt out if you’re requesting changes.

Our Student Directory is based on information you provided to Beaverton School District(BSD) when you registered your student(s). If you did not specifically opt OUT of sharing your information, it will be shared in the Terra Linda Student Directory. If you did not opt OUT at the district level, you can still opt out of the Student Directory by using the form on THIS PAGE.

But wait, there’s more! If you DID opt OUT at the district level, but you would like to share your information in this Student Directory, you can use THIS SAME PAGE to opt IN.

The cutoff to opt IN or OUT is Friday, December 11.
