Mayo Elementary
April 2022 News
Welcome, Spring!
Evidence of spring is all around us as buds appear on trees, grass turns green, and flowers begin to bloom. Along with the change in weather, April 7/8 marks the end of the third quarter. The AACPS calendar has a long spring break scheduled for April 9-18. Spring break is always a good time to wash backpacks, clean lunch boxes, label any sweatshirts and jackets so they can be returned if lost, and refresh school supplies. We will return to learning on April 19th, refreshed and ready to begin the fourth and final marking period for the school year.
The Mayo PTO continues to do an amazing job supporting our school! Check the PTO website for the "Teacher and Staff of the Week". The recognition of our talented staff at Mayo is priceless and much appreciated. The PTO also hosted a successful teacher auction and Duck Wars!
With masks optional, Mayo Elementary continues to follow AACPS protocols. Visit https://www.aacps.org/covidprotocols for current AACPS COVID-19 protocols, as changes occur frequently. All COVID positive student cases should be reported to the nurse at nurse4212@aacps.org. Please be sure to notify your child's teacher and keep your student home if they are not feeling well. If you ever have a question, please call the school and ask to speak to the Health Room or email Mrs. Hutzell, our school nurse, at nurse4212@aacps.org.
I wish your family a safe, enjoyable, and restful spring break.
