3rd Grade
Newsletter for September 8, 2016
From the teacher's pen
Welcome to 3rd Grade! Welcome back if you have already been through 3rd grade with a previous child :) I will be keeping much of my 3rd grade procedures and areas of study similar to what I have done in the past, but I am looking forward to putting a new twist on procedures and curriculum. I Hope to be able to see you all at the curriculum night to share with you.
Mad Minutes
We leapt right in to practicing math facts. Facts fluency is an important part of building a solid base and gaining confidence in math abilities. The 3rd graders will do mad minutes on Mondays through Thursdays. Our focus will be multiplication, division, and fractions this year. However, please help your child practice addition and subtraction on their own as I will test them on a regular basis.
Communications
I am sending this newsletter to all the email addresses that you included in your registration forms. Please let me know if you would like me to delete one of the emails (some of you have two or more) or if you would me like to add a different email. You in turn may contact me via email, a note written or attached to your child's planner, or send a note in the homework folder or call the school.
