Roughrider News Briefs:
- Please pray for Mrs. Sharon Sypole and her family. Sharon's mother passed away on Monday. The funeral mass is Thursday here at St. Ann's. Our 6th/7th/8th graders will attend the funeral along with their teachers; in addition, the students will serve as an honor guard.
- Please also pray for our Father Bill. Father Bill had hip replacement surgery on Tuesday. We're wishing him a speedy recovery.
- As a result of Thursday's funeral, we've rescheduled a few events. This includes the following: Our 7th Grade Stations of the Cross will be presented on April 7th at 1:30 p.m. The Grade Six celebration (Penny War Winning Class) will take place after break.
- A popcorn treat originally scheduled for Thursday afternoon will also take place after break. The entire school will receive a popcorn treat because each class has reached 50% or more of students re-registering for the 2017-2018 school year. 72% of the school has re-registered to date.
- Our Energy Fair will take place on Thursday, April 6th from 6-7:30 p.m. All grade 7 and 8 students will receive a participation grade for their attendance. Parent volunteers are needed; please use signup.com to secure your spot.
- Please spread the word, we'll be having a PreK and Kdg. Open House on Thursday, April 6th from 6-7 p.m. Prospective families are welcome to meet the teachers and discuss our early childhood curriculum.
- Our Home and School Association is hosting a Mother/Son Bowling event on Friday, April 7th at LanOak Lanes.

Lansing District 158 has asked if St. Ann would like to participate in the Lansing Area Spelling Bee this year. This spelling bee will include students from all Lansing elementary schools in grades 3, 4, and 5. Every school will send the top 3 spellers from each grade to participate. The Area Spelling Bee will be held on the evening of Wednesday, April 26th at a Lansing District 158 school. More information will be provided at a later date. Here at St. Ann, the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade classrooms will each hold a “classroom bee” to determine their top 3 spellers. These informal “classroom bees” will be held at some point in early April, as determined by the homeroom teachers. We hope all the students will enjoy participating. Good luck to all!

Emergency Closing Information
- http://www.emergencyclosingcenter.com - You can sign up to receive an email from this website shortly after I notify the site of a closure. This is the service that the newscasts utilize to notify the Public of a school closing. When you see the "crawl" at the bottom of a newscast, it came from this website that principals update.
- SchoolMessenger Phone Call - A recorded message is sent to your specified numbers
- Facebook - Like us at Saint Ann Catholic School, Lansing
- Remind - Teachers often will post a closure to their Remind texting accounts
- Please do not call the school to see if school is open; more than likely we are not at school when the decision for an emergency closing is made.
