1st Annual Teacher Experience Fundraiser!!
**Additional Tickets will be on sale at school!!
Prudence Crandall teachers and staff are proud to offer the following exciting prizes to support activities for our students! Our very own Crandall staff members are donating their time and resources to the students for some fun activities.
All activities will take place on campus during school hours. Time and dates will be worked out once winners are announced.
Wow, what a great first week! Tickets will also be on sale on Tuesday during the school store and Friday at lunch with Mr. Duperre.
Winning tickets will be pulled and announced at our PRIDE Assembly next Tuesday 3/28!
5th Grade Penny Wars
The 5th-grade students are in the middle of an epic Penny War battle. Please help your class by donating pennies to add to your class total. Also, you can add any silver to opposing classes to bring down their total. The winning class will receive a pizza party. All profits will benefit the 5th-grade end of year celebrations.
Links to Library
Lynn Bemont, a volunteer from Link to Libraries, reads the book, The Storyteller’s Candle to grade 3, room 4. Lynn worked at Crandall in the past, it is great to have her back reading to our students! She even brought in a St.Patrick’s Day craft! Thank you so much Lynn!
3rd Grade Reading Celebration
Room 2 and 5 students shared opinion, informational, and baby literary writing pieces at our Authors’ Tea on Friday!
Students selected topics they were passionate about to persuade others to agree with their opinions. Informational books were written to teach others about student-selected topics. Examples of baby literary essays from each student throughout the unit were shared to demonstrate the progression of writing skills developed within one unit. Baby literary essays require students to develop a thesis statement and support it with evidence from texts.
Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Collection
Prudence Crandall did an outstanding job spreading love to the Pack Leaders Rescue of Connecticut. We collected over 1,500 items for dogs and cats that have been rescued and are in the process of finding permanent homes. Mrs. Nuzzo’s class collected and organized donated items over the month of February and delivered them to the shelter in East Hartford.
