Andrew Jackson; A True Hero to Us
By Spencer Tilp
His Policies
President Andrew Jackson was probably and most likely the greatest president in the history of the United States. His massive support for the common people and workers was loved during his time, his stance on the Bank of the United States unmatched, and his promotion of democracy rivaled any other man.
The Common People
Jackson always favored these out of any other group of people. They were hardworking people and deserved recognition. He also went on their side for every issue involving them. One of them is explained in the next section.
Jackson vs the Bank of the United States
President Jackson never liked a big, national bank. He thought it favored the rich over the working class, and that it needed to be destroyed. The upper class begged him not to kill the bank, but he completely ignored them and did it anyway. He also ignored the Supreme Court's decision that the bank was constitutional and was okay. But the president was more in favor of small, state banks instead of a large one. This was yet another victory for the people who supported his presidency.

A Tough President
Jackson was known as the roughest president in the history of the United States. He liked to do gunfights to settle disputes (it was allowed at this time), and as a kid received many scars from the British, which he carries on his hand and face. His companions in battle even nicknamed him "Old Hickory" after a really tough kind of wood. This person was actually the one leading his army in the Battle of New Orleans during the War of 1812. Andrew Jackson is definitely a guy you wouldn't want to mess with.
Andrew Jackson Conclusion
Democracy
I'd say Jackson did well at his job promoting democracy. He did acts of fairness for the working class, and made sure the rich were mostly out of the picture when it came to politics. Jackson made all people's rights the same and listened to everyone's opinions, and even though he sometimes did what he thought should be done, it was the right decisions anyway.
