Start of her fame

When she was 11 she auditioned to be a part of the "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" cast and got the part, she was in two seasons before the show ended.

In 1988 Spears went on tour to 26 shopping malls before her first song even released.

Her signature hit "Baby One More Time" was 1999's biggest seller by a solo artist and sold over 18 million copies worldwide.

Spear's inappropriate behavior

As a teen she appeared to have more of a racy image, which people considered very innapropriate. People started to criticize her for her more inappropriate behavior.

Peak of her career

In 1999 Spear's won an American Music Award for best pop artist.

She was also nominated for a 2000 Grammy for best new artist, but was beat by Christina Aguilera.

Caught smoking

When Spear's parents divorced after 30 years of marriage she was caught smoking. But that didn't prevent her from being named one of the 50 most beautiful people by People Magazine in 2002.

That same year she also topped the list of Forbe's most powerful celebrities.

Bailed on her own concert

In 2002, Spears bailed on her concert after performing 5 songs without explanation. Afterward, concert organizers claimed the show was called off because of thunderstorms. Fans were upset and threw around her merchandise and called her a fraud.

Spear's helps charity

In 2002, she was honored with the Children's Choice Award for her charitable efforts.

She made a performing arts camp to benefit sick and disadvantaged children, and the money she raised during her "Dream Within A Dream" tour was given to people affected by 9/11.

Marriage

In 2004, Spear's married her friend Jason Alexander in Las Vegas. Many people called the marriage a foolish stunt, and they were right. They divorced 2 days later.

But later on in the same year, she married Kevin Fenderline.

Spear's had two children with Fenderline but less than two months after their second child was born, she filed for divorce.

Spear's mental breakdown

She was constantly in the tabloids for her increasingly erratic behavior. She spent time in a rehab facility in Antigua for drug abuse, left a day later, had her head shaved in California, and then a few days later entered another rehab facility.

What drugs did spear's use

She was abusing a pill called "Vyanse" which she was prescribed for her ADHD but she was taking them at an abusive rate. She also abused cocaine and ecstasy.

Consequences of drug use

Spear's use of drugs led to her losing custody of her children, being put in psychiatric hospitals and rehab facilities and now only being able to visit her children on certain occasions. Not only did it affect her family life but she now has a bad reputation and most people remember her as the famous pop singer that was addicted to drugs and not for her successes in life.
