Izetta Sparks Elementary

Our MISSION is to know every student by name and need in order to ensure that all students learn at high levels.

Our VISION: Sparks Elementary is dedicated to developing a collaborative community of life-long learners where individual needs, high standards, academic success and cultural diversity are valued for all.

No School Tomorrow or Monday!

Just a reminder that there will be no school for students tomorrow, Friday, October 7th, for a Staff Development Day. The school will also be closed on Monday, October 10th to all staff and students for the Columbus Day Holiday. We hope you enjoy the 4 day weekend with your families!

Recent Concerns

As you may have learned through local news stations, a bizarre social trend has found its way to North Texas. People have begun reporting suspicious incidents with individuals dressed as clowns, which has prompted an outbreak of social media chatter and speculation. These rumors are impacting school districts and police departments throughout DFW, ours among them.

While this trending situation has increased awareness, it has also increased anxiety in the community—which could be impacted further with costumes as Halloween approaches. Regrettably, ill-intended social media use outside of school often spills into the educational setting which requires teachers and staff to deal with misinformation instead of working with students. We at Sparks have not been directly drawn into this situation but are working with Frisco Police, our School Resource Officer, and FISD Security to monitor potential developments. We will rely on their expertise in determining credible threats.

I ask that you remember the safety of our students will always be a top priority at Sparks and throughout FISD. I hope this addresses any questions you may have or misinformation you may have received.

October is "Socktober" month at Sparks!

Our Student Council is sponsoring a sock drive during the month of October. Watch the video below made by our Student Council officers to see how you can be a part of helping out those in need!

Reflections Program

The National PTA Reflections program is PTA’s cornerstone arts program. It offers students the opportunity to earn local, state and even national recognition for original artwork they create in response to a specific theme. Students who participate in the Reflections Program get an opportunity to explore the arts and culture, develop creative thinking and problem-solving skills and recognize themselves as artists. All entries are due by October 21st and you must be a member of PTA for your child to participate in the program.
