Trivia Night Lights

The Auction will be awesome!

Our most valuable resources-children and staff must be safe

The safety of our students and staff is always on my mind. Following the tragic event that happened in Florida last week, I would like to ask you for your continued partnership to keep our students and staff safe. If you happen to see warning signs on social media or overhear conversations, please let me know. We ask you to monitor your child’s social media usage. Tell them that if they see something concerning online or hear someone making comments to notify an adult so the proper action can be taken. Anything that threatens anyone’s safety should be reported to law enforcement. It is also important that students know the serious nature of making threats to school safety. There are significant consequences for starting or spreading rumors that threaten the safety of our school. As always, we appreciate your support.

Learning about the world of work

Grade two classes have studied the effects of erosion as a module in their science curriculum. Mary Iwanski saw the opportunity to broaden the base of learning and applications, so the children and teachers visited the GSI Inc. in Waukesha and the West Allis facilities. Outstanding people (including the company president who called himself Mr. Safety) greeted us and were absolutely fantastic in helping the children to discover how erosion control works and the products involved.

Engineers visit Mrs. Karrels' class

Mrs. Karrels has family connections in the engineering field and invited them in to lead the students in a collaborative tower building activity. Here is another way that our school connects with the world of learning and application of skills that are acquired over time. The children were very excited to design and build together. Thanks Mrs. Karrels.

Here the children are listening to the president of the company John O'Connor, speak about his company.
