A Note From the Principal
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Our Fall Fest Parties and Parade will be on Tuesday, October 31. We can't wait for the festivities! There are a few important things to remember so we can all enjoy a safe, fun afternoon.
- Students should bring their costumes to school to change into before the parade and party.
- Costumes should be school-appropriate - no full face masks or weapons may be worn. Students should be able to put their own costumes on over their clothing; we cannot help with costumes, makeup, etc.
- Only PTO-approved volunteers will be allowed in classrooms.
- The costume parade will be from 2:40 to 3pm. Parents who want to watch the parade may park behind the school or at the church across the street, and watch the parade proceed around the front, north end, and back of the building. **If the weather does not cooperate, the parade will be held indoors. Parents are welcome to enter the building through the front doors and sit in the bleachers in the gym to watch the parade, but will be asked to leave school immediately after the parade, and may not enter classrooms.
- Parties will be held from 3-3:30pm. Volunteers who have pre-arranged to take their children home may leave with them at 3:30. All volunteers must leave the building promptly at 3:30 before regular dismissal procedures begin.
We appreciate your cooperation!
Thank you,
Mathew Prezioso, Principal

Infinite Campus Annual Update
The Annual Update must be completed by ALL Chardon Local Schools households every year, for every student, even if there are no changes. This ensures that you have created your Parent Portal Account so that we have the most accurate information for your student and household, so we may contact you promptly in case of an emergency, allows you to pay for student meals and school fees online, and gives you access to important forms and documents, including report cards. The window to complete the Annual Update has been closed, but we still need your updated information. Please find Annual Update instructions HERE.
🍦 The Annual Update Ice Cream Race is ON!!! 🍦 The first class to have ALL Annual Updates completed will receive an ice cream party! Mr. Buemi, Mrs. McClintock, and Mrs. Sobodosh's classes are TIED for the lead with only ONE Annual Update left to complete! Mrs. Hardman and Mrs. Suszynski (2 left) are close behind, followed by...

Help Munson Honor and Thank Our Veterans!
Munson takes immense pride in honoring our nation's veterans every year, and our Veterans Day committee has been hard at work planning this year's activities. See below for several ways you and your family can participate!
DAV Donations
This year, we are so honored to be raising money for Disabled American Veterans (DAV). DAV helps more than a million veterans every year, at no cost to them or their families! We would be so grateful for your donations. Click the photo below, or visit Munson Elementary's DAV Donation Page to help us thank and support our veterans!
Stockings for Soldiers
As part of our Veterans Day activities, we will be participating in the Stockings for Soldiers program in conjunction with DeJohn's Funeral Homes. The funeral home will provide a stocking for you and your family to decorate, as well as a list of suggested items for you to fill your stockings with. The filled stockings will be sent to deployed and local service members. This is a great way to incorporate caring for others and gratitude to members of our military as part of your Veterans Day activities. It will also provide you with an opportunity to talk to or about veterans from your own family and share their stories with your child. If you'd like to participate, a form will be sent home and needs to be returned by October 30. Stockings will be sent home on November 2, only to families who choose to participate and return the form. They need to be decorated, filled, and returned to school on Thursday, November 16.
Veteran Visits
One of our most special Veterans Day activities is a whole school assembly where Munson's own veterans (parents, grandparents, relatives, or friends) share a little about their service and their experiences in the military and answer questions from students. If you, a family member, or a friend are a veteran and would be willing to participate, a form will be sent home that should be returned by Monday, October 30. Thank you in advance for sharing your experience and time with us!
Title I
Title I, Part A of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) provides students who qualify with extra instructional services and activities beyond regular classroom instruction. Click HERE for more information about the Title I program, and reach out to the school with any questions.
Lost and Found
We have quite a collection of lost clothing, lunch boxes, water bottles, and more! Please ask your children to check the lost and found in the main hallway for any items that might belong to them. Also, please make sure to label ALL your student's items with their names so that we can help return them to their owners!
If you recognize anything in the photo, have your child claim it! Thanks!
