Stress and the 21st Century Teacher:
A lot has gone into making our first quarter of the school successful. We want you to know how much we appreciate the hard work, extensive planning, sacrifices of time and love for our children. We also know that in order to accomplish our progress you have had day to day challenges to meet the needs of every child.
We are fortunate to have great classroom teachers, resource specialist teacher support, instructional specialists in our school and in the system to provide us with professional development to help each of us continue to provide quality learning. Thank you for your desire to continually improve by your active participation in our global initiative and continued growth with the integration of instructional technology.
Thank you again for your efforts and for your continued activities to help our students be the best they can be. We encourage you to enjoy the following ideas and activities for dealing with change and stressful situations to encourage positivity at work and in your personal life.

Lunch times will remain the same except for the following changes:
· Gosnell gets lunch at 12:40 PM
Recess:
NEW RECESS TIMES…Recess will take place as follows:
- 10:15 AM-10:45 AM- 3rd grade (ON 4/5 PLAYGROUND)
- 10:45 AM-11:15 AM- 5th grade, 1st grade

- 12:00 PM-12:30 PM- 2nd grade
- 12:30 PM-1:00 PM- 4th grade
Lunch Discipline and Pick up:
Please be on time to pick your classes. If a class is late to be picked up, the discipline becomes worse, and the stress on those on duty is worse as there are more students to monitor. A few minutes really does make a difference.
Behavior Systems:
Do you use the clip up/down system? Do you use classroom dojo? Does your behavior system relate to Paw Power? How do you communicate behavior information to the student/parent/staff? Does your behavior system help you build meaningful relationships with your students? If so how? There are many questions about behavior management, and many of you have answers. We will be gathering data regarding behavior management- we want to know what works best for grade-levels and teachers- and how we might move forward next year in order for students to have a more consistent experience. Stay tuned…
Leaving Campus: If you must leave campus, please inform someone in the front office. Thank you!
Signing In: If parents frequently do not sign in and come to your room in the morning or afternoon, please let the office know so that we can help enforce the sign-in policy. See parent article in Sunday Message about parent signing in to protect your instructional and instructional planning time.
