Wilson Hill Families
Happy Friday. It was a great week at Wilson Hill. Tonight our PTO is hosting Movie Night at Wilson Hill at 6:15pm. There will be 2 movie options, one for younger students in the cafeteria, and one for older students in the gym. Students must be accompanied by an adult in order to attend. More details below.
One the greatest things about our Wilson Hill community is the growing diversity we are seeing here locally. Over the past few years Wilson Hill, and Worthington, has seen a steady increase in our English Learners (EL) population. Currently we have roughly 30 EL learners at Wilson Hill, and 10 different languages spoken. We love embracing our students from all different parts of the world. Our students have learned a lot about helping these new friends and how to be accepting of all. Sometimes we face challenges when welcoming these amazing families and below is a link to Superintendent Dr. Bowers' most recent blog post highlighting just one of these stories that makes me proud to serve as the Principal of Wilson Hill. It is also a reminder of why "I LOVE WORTHINGTON SCHOOLS!"
Go White Tigers!

Tardies and Traffic Safety
- Tardies - With the winter weather we have again seen a rise in our amount of students being tardy in the mornings. Our goal is to have all students in their classrooms by 7:45am (when the tardy bell rings). As a reminder if you show up past 7:45am you will need to park and bring your child to the main office to sign them in via our system. Please make sure you are allotting enough time for our White Tigers to arrive on time each day.
- Traffic Safety - Recently we have received several reports of cars making "u turns" on Northland Rd. in front of Wilson Hill. Please be sure to follow all traffic laws, as well as our arrival and dismissal protocols to ensure student safety.
- No Turning left into, or out of, our car loop
- No Parking in the South Lot to pick up your child
- Please be sure to pull all the way forward in the arrival/dismissal car loop.
Personal Communication Devices
Please be reminded that "personal communication devices" (i.e: cell phones, gizmos, iwatch, ipads, anything that can send or receive messages) are not allowed during school hours in elementary school. If your family wishes to use these devices to track kids traveling and/or send messages, please ensure your White Tiger understands they are to text/call before they enter school, keep it off and in backpack all school day, and can then contact you once they exit the building.
Notes to discuss with your White Tigers:
- no cell phones, iwatch/Gizmo, etc. are allowed to be used during school hours
- students can use these devices on Worthington school buses/BOE-approved transportation, at discretion of the driver.
- students are not permitted to take photos or videos during the school day or on buses on any personal device (this is especially important for student safety/security)
- students/families are responsible if they are lost.
- If your child is found to be using their device during the school day, you may be asked to come into the school office to retrieve it at the conclusion of the school day.
- Page 26 of the Elementary Family Handbook outlines Worthington Schools policy around personal communication devices.
