Dear Everitt Families:

I'm sitting in my office with the snow drifting down and reflecting on the week and some of the amazing things our students are doing. The story that stands out to me is that we had a visit from CDE on Tuesday afternoon. As I walked around the building with our guests and some student tour guides, I was struck by the wonderful things our kids were doing in their classrooms. Our choir was working hard at a new song and singing some challenging harmonies, some of our STEM students were building a prosthetic hand, and our art students were exploring new materials to name a few. Below are some photos that I took on that tour. After the tour, some of our students had a chance to answer some questions from our guests. The answers that stood out to me were students talking about feeling challenged and supported, making true friends here, and learning to see things from different perspectives. Our guests and I were impressed by our students' thoughtful answers. Thank you to our student panel!

Incoming 6th-grade families, your children have received their registration materials and it is time to select electives for next year. If you have any questions, please call Heather Hanson (A-L) or Kirsten Aronson (M-Z). Current 6th and 7th grade families...more to come!

Our CMAS schedule for ELA and Math is below. Please note that we have early release days on March 31 and April 3rd and 4th. The buses will run at 12:15 when we dismiss. We want our students to be able to focus on doing their best on the assessments those days. There will be no homework or additional work.

If you need to let us know about an absence, you are welcome to call the main office or email Ms. Ronnie at the school. We know that getting through on the attendance line and leaving a message can be tedious.

Finally, International Night is this week! Join us and the rest of the Wheat Ridge community on Thursday, March 9th from 5:00-7:30 for delicious food from Wheat Ridge restaurants, performances by local groups, a presentation by an author, and presentation boards by our families and students. It's going to be an amazing night! Parking may be challenging...come early!

Thank you for supporting and believing in your neighborhood school. It is our privilege to partner with you!
