SJCS Family Newsletter
October 2021
As I learn more and more about the wonderful things at our school, I continue to be amazed at the spirit of our St. Joseph's families and community. In all my years in education, I have never seen such deep roots and commitment to faith and education.
In the world of private education, we know we must tap into our 'creative courage' to continue to provide exceptional opportunities for our students. That being said, many of you may know that we are in need of a new set of wheels to get our students to and from various sporting events, field trips, and to Santa Teresa in the afternoons.
We will begin a campaign this week in partnership with Brazos Valley Gives to help us raise funds for a new Eagle Express van. Our goal is to raise $40,000 leading up to the big Day of Giving on October 19th. I don't know about you, but my eyes just got really big reading that!
Y'all. FORTY-THOUSAND DOLLARS! That's A LOT of money! {insert big-eyed emoji here} However, I know that we have the capacity to make this happen for our students!
Here's how our families can help us accomplish this goal:
- Will you help us share our campaign on Facebook and word-of-mouth?
- Will you consider texting the donation link to five people outside our school community?
- Will you tell others about the wonderful things going on at our school?
- Will you pray for our school - the students, the staff, the families - to continue growing, learning, and leading in excellence?
The link to give to our Eagle Express is active now and can be accessed HERE. If you are able, we'd love to get some early giving donations and stay tuned for some fun videos and hype leading up to October 19th!
Go Eagles & God bless!

As a reminder, online EIM Training is available for existing applicants who have previously attended a workshop and are due to update/renew their EIM compliance.

Feeling sick? Please stay home!
With the nature of COVID and the precautions we take at school with illness, we ask that you please DO NOT send your student to school if they do not feel well before they leave the house in the morning. We understand the desire to not miss instruction, however, we want to err on the side of caution because the health and safety of our students, staff, and families is more important!
When a student gets to school and is then sent home with COVID-like symptoms, we have to displace each class to a new location so we can disinfect each room they previously visited that day. This creates quite a distraction to the learning environment and causes learning to not take place.
Health Screenings
On October 5th students in Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st, 3rd & 5th grade will have a basic health screening at school.
