Honor Band Members

On Monday and Tuesday students from throughout the district auditioned for places in the HEB Honor Band. Bedford Junior High had 39 students chosen to join the Honor Band, the largest number from any Junior High in the HEB district. Congratulations to everyone for a job well done.

BJH National Junior Honor Society

During a recent meeting the BJH National Junior Honor Society members elected their officers for the 2015-16 school year. Congratulations to all!

PTA Reflections Contest Finalist

Each year the BJH PTA sponsors the National PTA Reflections Program. This program encourages students to explore the arts and express themselves by giving positive recognition for their artistic efforts. This year's theme was "Let Your Imagination Fly", and there were 29 entries from Bedford Junior High.


In Visual Arts, Photography and Special Artists Categories the following students advanced from BJH to the Council PTA level.

In January, the HEBISD Council of PTAs will advance their Reflections selections on to the State PTA for judging. For the past two years, Bedford has had students advance to the State PTA level. In January, the PTA will host a Reflections Awards Breakfast for all students that participated this year in the program. The BJH students whose entries were not chosen to advance will be set up for viewing at the Old Bedford School and the Library.

Purchasing a yearbook is easy. You can purchase online using a credit/debit card or you can purchase from BJH by completing the purchase form and pay with cash, check or money order. The cost of the yearbook is $50 each.

Yearbook News

9th Grade Ads

Each year, the BJH yearbook includes a special section containing childhood pictures of the 9th grade graduating class. In this section, parents are given the opportunity to show their pride in their student and wish them continued success as they move on to high school. You can share your memories of your student by providing the yearbook staff with your favorite photo and a completed 9th Grade Baby Ad form. You can find the form on the Yearbook page when visiting the BJH website (see the link in the left navigation). You may drop the photo and form off in the front office or email both the form and the digital photo to Mrs. Keneda (susannahkeneda@hebisd.edu). DEADLINE FOR PARENT ADS WILL BE FRIDAY, DECEMBER 18TH.

9th Grade Girls Basketball

The Bedford girls 9th grade team won their first game of the year against DeSoto Tuesday night, 11-10-15.

Offensive leaders where: Rebekah Sharp, Olivia Runne, and Josie Rodriguez. Leading rebounders were: Olivia Runne, Taelynn DeHart, and Reagan Mills. Defensive leader was Alexia Esparza. Way to ladies!

Our 9th grade girls basketball team lost a close one on Thursday in our first game of the Grapevine tournament.

Olivia Runne led the rebounds. Taelynn DeHart, Destiny Lowhorn, and Tyla Heard led the offense. Rebekah Sharp led the defense. Good luck today, ladies.

8th Grade Volleyball

The A & B Volleyball teams had a successful season. They both went undefeated in district play and won their 1st tournament in district. The A team finished in 2nd place at the Big 12 tournament.


Coach Love would like to say thanks to the girls for their hard work and dedication this season.

7th Grade Volleyball

The 7th grade volleyball A team played in the district tournament last weekend , and unfortunately got beat in two games against Euless and North Richland. Coach Lowry is very proud of all the girls and is excited on all of the accomplishments the girls made throughout the season !!!

8th Grade Boys Cross Country

The 8th Grade Boys Cross Country Team had a great first meet this week.

Both "A" and "B" teams took 1st Place in the meet against Harwood, Euless, North Oaks, Watauga and Smithfield. Great Job guys!

7th Grade Boys Cross Country

The 7th Grade Boys Cross Country Team had a great first meet this week.

The "A" team took 1st Place and the "B" team took 2nd place in the meet against Harwood, Euless, North Oaks, Watauga and Smithfield. Great Job guys!

7th Grade Girls Cross Country

7th grade girls A team placed 4th overall in Tuesday's meet

Individual student placement: Savanah Loya 13th, Sasha Caldwell 16th, Kaitlyn Dietel 19th and Rylie Theodore 20th


7th grade girls B team placed 3rd overall in tuesday's meet

Individual student placement: Jazmin Garcia 3rd, Avery Hodges 12th, and Taylor Oyler 21st.

8th Grade Girls Cross Country

The 8th grade girls A team placed 3rd overall in Tuesday's meet

Individual student placement: Chrislyn Firth 4th, Mae Eliott 8th, Tessa Glick, 9th, Dania Sawan 11th, Claire McDonald, 18th, Sophia Brown, 19th

Gymnastics Team

The BJH Gymnastics team competed in their first meet of the season last night against Harwood and Hurst.

The girls team won first place as a team. Kiley Knittle won 1st place on vault, Aaliyah Colwick placed 2nd on the bars and 3rd in all around, and Analise Gonzalez won first place on 3 of the 4 events and was the all around first place champion!

The boys team placed 2nd as a team. Peyton Payblas placed 3rd on rings and 6th all around. Iker Del Solar won first place on pommel horse, vault, and was the all around first place champion!

Both men and women all around champions were Bedford gymnasts! Way to go!
