Motodrome are pleased to offer this rare ex-military Land Rover Series IIa, this one a petrol 88in softtop FFR 12 volt, finished in IRR drab with contrasting tilt. This one has just emerged from our workshops following a £1200 overhaul.

Released from military service and road registered in 1970, it’s chassis number would suggest it was built in 1962. It’s only had 4 former keepers since 1970, including 2 owners in the same family since 1993. Fitted with a later Series 3 5-bearing 2.25 ex-military petrol engine, and somewhere along the line it’s acquired the bulkhead from a Series 3 .

Also fitted with rear bench seats making it a 7 seater, freewheel front hubs, military front bumper with towhooks, , bonnet mounted spare wheel, matching set of 4 all-terrain tyres, tailgate mounted tools, and towpack

It’s full of character and on test on emergence from it’s lengthly sojourn in the workshop it really put a smile on my face.

Supplied with MOT to October 2014, and it’s taxed to end September 2014 too (although that’s free in the UK)

Please note: the radio shown in the back in the photos and videos is not available for sale and will not be included, and, when it arrived with us, the speedo cable was broken. We've since re-cabled it and it's working fine, but we're selling it as 'mileage known incorrect' to avoid any misunderstandings
