Central Families,

Thank you to all of the families that donated candy to our annual Trunk or Treat! We had so much fun seeing the students in the costumes!

Parents, we need your help. We have had an increase in the number of students that are being picked up after 3:50 from the front office. Please pick your students up on time each day. The teachers and administrators have trainings after school or other responsibilities. When students are picked up late, we are late for our district meetings and trainings. Because we are not allowed to leave students unattended, we will have to start contacting Duncanville ISD police department for assistance for students that are habitually picked up late. Thank you for your assistance.

On November 8, Central is a voting site. Our parking lot may have some congestion during morning drop off and dismissal.

As we continue to navigate through the 2nd 9 weeks, we look forward to celebrating the successes and achievements from our students. We appreciate your support in getting students to school each day and supporting their learning at home. Attendance matters everyday. Chronic absences — missing 10 percent or more of school days due to absence for any reason—excused and unexcused absences can translate into students having difficulty learning to read by the third-grade, achieving in middle school, and graduating from high school.

At Central, we have high expectations for all students and we look forward to seeing their academic achievement over the 2nd Nine Weeks of school.

Reminders:

  • Tardies start at 8:00. If your student arrives to school after 8:00 AM, the student must be signed in by an adult at the main office.
  • The main office closes at 3:00 PM to prepare for dismissal. Please note that parents will not be allowed to pick up students early after 3:00 PM.
  • Dismissal tags are required for all parents during dismissal.
  • Don't forget to join Class Dojo. Click HERE to join.

Message from Ms. Tijerina our Library Media Specialist

Hi Central Families!

Students can access online books from our SORA database! How to Access Sora Video

Skyward Family Access

We encourage parents to check Skyward Family Access to monitor your student's academic progress and attendance. Skyward allows you to view your student's assignments, grades, and attendance. You can also set up automatic notifications of grades and daily attendance.

Progress reports and report cards are posted in Skyward Family Access. To access your scholar's grades:

Attendance Matters- Good attendance= Academic Success

Parents we need your help! Our goal is to have at least 97% of our students in attendance each day. We are averaging about 94%. We have experienced some improvement however, we have some work to do to improve our daily attendance.

Attendance whether it's excused or unexcused impacts the 90% rule. If your scholar misses more than 9 days of school, they are at risk of not earning credit for the school year and truancy may be filed.

Each week we recognize grade levels that have the highest attendance. If the grade level is recognized, each class in the grade level gets an attendance trophy for the week. We are also giving special treats to classes for having great attendance.

Please bring your student to school daily and help them have academic success.
