Progress Notes
On Tuesday, October 25 progress notes will be going home for students in grades 1-8. This guide has been created to provide parents with information about the student progress at Saint Joseph School. Reporting student progress is an essential part of communication and our partnership between home and school. Students that participated in MAPs for Growth testing will also have a copy of their results with their progress report.
The progress report provides a snapshot of student learning that reflects:
- Grade-level expectations and standards
- Student achievement of and progress toward independently meeting expectations
- Where help and support are needed
Please schedule an appointment with your child's teacher if further discussion is needed. Remember we are here to work as team to help best support all the students at SJS.
SJS Spritwear
There are limited sizes available for SJS spiritswear. We do have youth and adult sizes for t-shirts, long sleeves, crewneck sweatshirts, and hoodies. Please email Mrs. Medeiros if you have any questions.
Scholastic Book Fair
We’re excited to host our first Scholastic Book Fair of this school year. This is a great
opportunity for our students to build their home libraries and further their love of reading. As
always, all purchases benefit our school.
Students have received flyers and will be allowed to preview the fair during library classes.
Many of the books we receive are not in the flyers. You can also visit our Book Fair
Homepage to view the flyers online, sign up for eWallet, and purchase books at the
Scholastic online store if you prefer.
Books can be purchased during the school day. Just send your child in with their wish
list and payment (cash or check) in an envelope or plastic bag that has your child's name, grade and "book fair money" on it. The fair will also be open during your child’s Grandparents’ Breakfast.
Our Book Fair also offers eWallet, a safe and secure alternative to cash. Simply create a free
account to add funds and/or invite family and friends to contribute so your child can select
their own books. Any unused funds can be spent at The Scholastic Store Online or to fund a
future eWallet. Change for unused funds cannot be given at the fair.
Volunteers are needed, especially during Grandparents Breakfasts throughout the week. If
You are available to help from 9:00am-11:00am on any of those days (Oct.17-21) and have
completed a CORI check with our school, please contact the school librarian, Kathleen
Clement (kclement@sjsf.dfrcs.org), with your availability.

Important Date Changes
Due to an upcoming field trip for our 7th and 8th-grade students, we have to adjust the date for Donuts with Grown-ups in Honor of Grandparents. Our students that were planning to attend the breakfast on Thursday, October 20, 2022, will now attend on Tuesday, October 18. The cost for breakfast is $5.00 per adult and free for students. Please note that this will not affect your child if they are attending the sibling breakfast on Friday, October 21.
Our PTO is currently looking to book a DJ for the Middle School Harvest Dance on Friday, October 28. At this time, we do not have a confirmation from a DJ. Please know that we are trying to work out the details and may have to change the dance. Stay tuned for more information!
Thank you!

By tradition, the Catholic Church dedicates each month of the year to certain devotion. The month of October is dedicated to the Holy Rosary, one of the best known of all Catholic devotions.
The best way to celebrate the month is, of course, to pray the Rosary.
