- Duties/Responsibilities: Dentists remove decay from teeth and fill cavities, repair or remove damaged teeth, straighten teeth to correct bite issues, place sealants or whitening agents on teeth, give anesthetics to keep patients from feeling pain during procedures, write prescriptions for antibiotics, examine x-rays of the mouth, make models for dental appliances to fix patients, and teach patients about diet, flossing, use of fluoride, and other aspects of dental care.
- Average Hours/Working Schedule: Full Time. 7-9 hours a day. 35 hours a week.

- Salary/Wage Potential: $146,920 per year.

High school students must take courses like chemistry, physics, biology, anatomy, and mathematics. Undergraduates in college have to take the Dental Acceptance Test in their junior year in order to enter dental school.
Dentists must have communication skills, oriented details, leadership skills, organizational skills, patience, problem solving skills, and stamina.
Employment of dentists is supposed to increase 21 percent by the year 2020.
