We sincerely hope you will find something @ the PDC that interests you. We look forward to serving your tech training needs and we encourage you to use the information in this newsletter to register for summer courses @ the PDC.

CODING IN THE K-12 CLASSROOM WITH STUDENTS

Learn how to integrate the language of computer science into any lesson from literacy to the arts. The workshop will cover the content for three courses and teachers will receive the supplies needed to teach the course. The courses are flexible so educators can tailor them to their class based on their students' developmental level and prior experience. The lessons align to CSTA Computer Science and ISTE Standards and reinforce concepts and skills taught in other subject areas by integrating national Math, English, Language Arts, and Science Standards. IMPO: The trainer is customizing the course for K-12 classrooms.

PBS LearningMedia provides more than 100,000 videos, images, interactive activities, lesson plans and articles, searchable by grade, subject, and Florida standard. Content is drawn from critically acclaimed PBS programs, documents from the Library of Congress, and pictures from the Smithsonian, among others.
