2. Summer Tri Book Club Meeting: Half the Sky
March is almost gone and April is almost here, but I think finals may come before spring.
March was a busy month for the library as Anne Mackereth and Krista Jacobson presented "Finding Health Information Online" at the neighboring Penn Lake Library, we had tons of students studying for the Boards and we gave numerous presentations to future students on Discovery Day.
We look forward to all April will bring and good luck to everyone on their finals!
Finals Week News, Notes and Changes (i.e. we address survey questions)
Library Hours
Every weekday, the library will open at 7:00 a.m. and close at 11:00 p.m. on M-R and 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 11th.
Starting Friday, April 18th, we will have our break hours. They are:
Friday April 18th and 25th: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Monday-Thursday April 21st-24th: 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Monday, April 28th: 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Tuesday, April 29th: 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
We will resume regular hours on April 30th, the first day of classes.
Study Rooms and Library Computer Classroom Reservations
Computer Classroom: Recently, we've had students request reserving the library computer classroom. We do let students reserve it, although priority will go to faculty & classes. Please reserve this room only if you have a large group.
FYI, if there are any empty computers, other students not in your group will still be able to go in and use them so the computer lab isn't your typical 'quiet' or 'private' study area.
To reserve the computer classroom only (regular study room sign-up is in the binder at the desk) please e-mail library@nwhealth.edu.
Printers
We did meet with a vendor last week and are getting quotes on the possibility of new printers. Hopefully, that will solve some of the issues but it may not solve all of them. For now--here's what you can do for the following issue:
I get gibberish: Ask the person at the front desk to cancel the print job. Let them know how many pages were charged to your account so you can be reimbursed. To get a non-gibberish copy, sometimes you need to save your document to the desktop and print from there. Printing directly from Moodle and/or an online e-mail client can cause wires to get crossed in processing.
The printer is out of paper: If a printer is out of paper or toner, please do not replace or shift paper around. Violent opening and closing of the drawers makes its little bitty parts break off. And overfilling it causes jams. Instead ask at the front desk and someone will refill the printer.

Unfortunately, there will be no book club kit for the book this time. We may have copies in the library closer to the date of the meeting. Stop in and ask.
