Elem Math/Sci Curriculum Update
May 2018
New K-3 Science Curriculum
All K-3 teachers will receive two release days next school year (one in the fall and one in January) of professional development on their new curriculum and standards.
Surplus Details
Materials from Science kits, math manipulatives, and similar items do not go with our current textbook surplus. Vicki Frayne will be sending information about EQUIPMENT SURPLUS soon, which is where some of these items could fit. Since Kindergarten through 3rd grade will be getting a new science curriculum, I have created a list of things you should currently have that could be helpful to keep based on your new standards, or to pass to another grade level. You can keep any additional items that you would like to have. You can dispose of or recycle items that are broken or have missing pieces. If you are unsure about any items, please give me a call at X5328.

Ritenour has an annual math camp for teachers K-12. Information about mindset, discourse, problem-solving strategies, awareness and implementation of instructional strategies. The two presenters (Ritenour teachers) Melissa Crowley and Mandy Harvell have presented for our district, at workshops in the region (they presented at "Add It Up" last year), and nationally at NCTM.
