From the School Nurse

As parents, you have built an incredible foundation for your child’s future success. Regular school attendance will continue to equip children with lifelong skills like problem solving, social competence and the development of resilience and grit.

When students come to the clinic without obvious signs of illness, fever or vomiting, I will do my best to comfort them, allow them to rest, hydrate and decompress. I then encourage the child to try to return to the classroom. When they are unsure if they can, we usually call home and go from there.

Countless times, just prior to dismissal, students poke their head in the clinic and say “Nurse D, I made it!” beaming with pride. Working together we can help your child achieve their maximum learning potential.

E.H.Greene PTO Fall 2018 Gifting Requests

Our PTO is now accepting Requests for Funding (Projects) for the Fall and staff and Greene School families are invited to submit a request form. Please submit your form by Monday, October 29, 2018. The Project Committee will respond to your request by Monday, November 12, 2018.

The Book Fair is Here!

Don’t forget to stop by the Media Center during parent/teacher conferences next week to check out the great selection of books we have this Fall.

The book fair is open as follows:

Mon - Thurs October 29- November 1: 7:45-3:00 PM

Thursday November 1: 3:00 - 8:00 during conferences

Friday November 2: 7:45-11:45 AM

Most students will be visiting the book fair during their Multimedia Explorations (MX) class. You can send money with your child or come during that time to help purchase books. Students can also get a pass from their teacher to come any time independently of their class.

You and your child will also have several opportunities to win $10 vouchers at the fair! You can enter the drawing if you visit the fair during conferences, if you make a purchase, or if you purchase from a classroom wish list.

Please stop by and support the book fair and get a head start on your holiday shopping! Prices begin at $1.99 with the average book costing about $6.00-$7.00.

In addition, we will be collecting spare change (or dollars) to buy books for Operation Give Back’s library, located in Blue Ash. Our goal is to buy $100.00 worth of new books for OGB.

All other proceeds from the book fair benefit the Greene School Media Center. With the proceeds, we will purchase new E-books, new audio books, new physical books, and new items for the students to use in our Makerspace.

Our Book Fair brings a wonderful selection of fun, engaging, and affordable books kids want to buy and read.

Blue Ash Elementary Haunted Festival - November 2, 5:00 - 9:00 PM

Please join us November 2nd, from 5:00 - 9:00 pm, for Blue Ash Elementary's Haunted Festival, our annual family-friendly night of fun for the entire community. There will be food, games, baked goods, prizes, class baskets, Bid 'n Buy, Blue Ash Bashes, and much more. Come in your favorite family-appropriate (non-spooky) costume. Haunted Fest is Blue Ash Elementary PTO's biggest fundraiser of the year. We are so excited to have you join us! Invite your friends! The flyer and all details can be found online at:

Volunteers Wanted:

It is time for the Blue Ash Elementary Haunted Festival! This is a fun volunteer opportunity. The Haunted Festival 2018 is Friday, November 2nd, 5:00-9:00 pm. There are 3 shifts: 1st Shift 4:50-6:30 pm, 2nd Shift 6:20-8:00 pm, and 3rd Shift/Clean Up 7:50-9:30 pm. Volunteers may choose the shift and assignment and may choose to work with a friend.
