This Is How We Lakeview
May 2023 Edition: Volume 3
Hard to believe that we are almost done!
Just a reminder that the LAST DAY OF SCHOOL, Wednesday, May 24th, is a 2-hour early release day. Lakeview students will be dismissed at 12:10 pm that day.
8th graders, we are collecting Chromebooks and chargers on Monday. Please make sure that you have these at school and ready to turn in on Monday.
Heads up, our office hours will be changing for the summer. If you need anything the main office is open from 8:00-2:30 pm.

Principal
Last Call for May Dance Tickets!
Tomorrow (Saturday) night is our "A Night in Paris" Dance. Please make sure that you purchase tickets ahead of time as there will not be tickets sold at the door. Please make sure that your student has their ticket (digital or printed). The dance runs from 7:00-9:00 pm. See the link below for ticket sales. Remember that the passcode is their STUDENT ID Number.
Kona Ice is Coming!
- Kona Ice is coming their final trip of the year to Lakeview on our last day of school. Kona will be here during lunch periods, and students will have the choice between the $4 and $5 options.
- As always, thank you for Kona Ice for helping us celebrate our students!
Yearbooks
Due to the yearbook being completed late, they will not be in until the start of the school year. We will send all current 8th grade students up to North for distribution. If your student is not attending Lakeview or North next year, please let Michelle Hardesty (michelle_hardesty@plsd.us) know so that we can make arrangements to get their yearbook to them.
MEDICATION PICK UP FROM THE CLINIC
This is a reminder for parents/guardians who brought medication in for their student to have available during the school year. According to the School Board policy, the medication will need to be picked up by a parent/guardian on or before the last day of school, Wednesday, May 24th. Any medication that has not been picked up by the last day of school will be discarded.
If you have any questions or concerns please email melanie_thompson@plsd.us

Summer Camp Opportunities
The Workforce Center is once again offering summer camps for junior high students. These are for rising 6th, 7th, and 8th graders and include robotics, construction, healthcare, and an all-girls STEM camp. It’s an opportunity to introduce local careers to students while they are still determining their pathway. These come at no cost to the attendees. This year, we are expanding the capacity of the camps through the generosity of Lancaster City Schools. They will be providing teachers and other support. Hocking College and Ohio University will also provide instruction. The link to sign up is below.
