Principal's Message
A little over a month into school and things feel like they are in full swing here at CFT! Every day I am humbled and honored by the responsibility entrusted to me and to our entire talented and dedicated staff. As I get to know more students and caregivers, I am deeply grateful to our community for their collective care, trust and the joy and vibrance that our students bring to school each and every day.
This year, we as a staff are dedicating much of our professional learning to supporting a positive climate at CFT through social-emotional learning and restorative practices. One of these practices is the use of a short script that helps students share their feelings and make a plan to make things better. Each student says "I feel_____ because _____. I wish _____." and responds with "I hear you say _____. I will _____." Using a script like this gives students the opportunity to speak their peace and be heard and helps them focus on the problem instead of the person.
There are a couple of dates to note next week:
October 12th - No school for students. This is a learning and planning day for our staff.
October 14th - Jog-A-Thon!
Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend,
Tarehna Wicker
Tarehna Wicker
