GIRLS ON THE RUN REGISTRATION OPENS FEBRUARY 4TH!

Did you know: GOTR has Junior Coaching opportunities so if you are in 7th thru 12th grade and would like to get involved, please let us know!

Girls on the Run 2019 season starts the week of March 4th and registration opens on Monday February 4th! The program will be held on Mondays and Fridays from 3:15 until 4:30.

The program is designed to inspire girls to recognize their inner strength and celebrate what makes them one of a kind! Over the course of the 10 week program, coaches will guide the girls through a curricula of dynamic discussions, activities and running games aimed at developing confidence and promoting an appreciation of health and fitness. The program culminates with a celebratory 5K event in May. You can register online at the following link: https://www.gotrvt.org/Register-Now

  • We are still seeking coaches to help with the program. We understand that committing to both days each week may be difficult – so even if you can join us a few times throughout the season that would be a great help!
  • Any girl in grades 7-12 are also invited to join us as a Junior Coach!

If interested please contact Tammy Richards at tamikoch1@yahoo.com. We need your help to make this program a success!

We Joyfully Welcome Colin Francis Abbondanzio to the SMS Family!

Our new music teacher, Breton Abbondanzio, and his sweet family just welcomed their third son this past week. Everyone is doing great and Mr. A is very happy to share photos and an update with us all:

Colin Francis Abbondanzio was born on Sunday January 27th at 9:51pm. He was 7 lbs. 12.6 oz. and 21 1/2 inches at birth. Reina and I thank everyone for all their prayers for a safe and smooth delivery. His two brothers, Adrian and David, dote on him. They're very excited to have another playmate. Adrian loves holding him and David likes singing "Baby Shark" to him. We all look forward to being part of the St. Michael's School community soon.

Mark your calendars.... GO SAINTS!

Booster seats for your child on Mondays for Winter Sports.

Dear Parents:

We need to remind everyone to please make sure to drop off a booster seat for your child on Mondays for Winter Sports.

As a school, we must ensure
1) the safety of your children and 2) compliance with Vermont State Law. Where all Winter Sports activities are located in VT, we are compelled to follow VT law. Current Vermont Law states:

Child Car Seat Laws

  • All kids who weigh over 20 lbs and are 1 through 7 years old must ride in either a child safety seat or a booster seat.

  • Kids between 8 to 15 years old must ride in a child passenger restraint system, or use a seat belt.

**If your child does not normally use a booster seat in your own vehicle, but they fall within the 1-7 age range, we would ask that you make arrangements for the next few weeks to borrow from someone. If that cannot happen, please come speak with someone in the front office.

**If you simply forgot, please please come up with a way to remind yourself before driving away. Set an alarm or use a post it note on your child’s backpack etc.

Thank you so much for your understanding and cooperation.

If you know anyone that would like to finish their Junior year here at SMS and reenroll to graduate in the spring of 2020, please share this amazing opportunity.
