Math
K.OA.1 Represent addition and subtraction with objects, fingers, mental images, drawings, sounds, acting out situations, expressions, or equations.
This week, we are continuing to work on subtraction. We will be using activities from the Fiction text: Pete and His Four Groovy Buttons and learn problem solving solutions using word problems. Students will be learning how to use pictures, models, symbols and words to solve these word problems. They have really enjoyed learning all of the different ways addition and subtraction are related and are learning how to correctly apply these concepts in real-world situations.
We included the following youtube video to demonstrate a way to subtract numbers using a number line. Check it out!
Science
zig-zags, straight lines, up and down, back and forth, and round and round.
Students will continue working on exploring the different ways things move. They had a great time last week exploring these new concepts and discovering the different ways we move each and every day.
