Bingham Everything Night
We are still in need of help for our Bingham everything night next Thursday, April 4th. Here is the form to sign-up. Even if you can’t help the whole night, you can sign up for a shorter time segment. We will have art activities for families to participate on together, math and STEAM stations and a poetry café that will serve hot chocolate, with all the toppings, and coffee. We will also be serving Otts Pasta for dinner.
Thank you so much for any time you can give.
Here is a rough draft of a rotation sheet for next week. Jill, I left a section for the parent contract form that we need signed but I wasn’t sure how to word it. We can move the grades around however we need this is just what we had originally put in our email we sent out. Any changes any of you think we should make please feel free to do so.
I am needing some help judging the artwork for Bingham Everything night. We will be judging next Tuesday and Wednesday. Judging will end at 5:30 on Wednesday evening. I will put a judging form in each staff member’s box on Monday.
Here are the specifics:
· Simply put the name of the student under each category.
· Please skip the grade level that you teach, or if you have a family member in a grade level that you skip that grade level.
· You don’t have to put your name on the judges sheet.
· When you have filled it our please either put it in my box or bring it to my room, if I’m not there please just put it on my desk.
We will have ribbons and a trophy for some of the art work that will be awarded on Bingham Everything Night. So excited that we get to provide this opportunity for our students and their families.

Crazy Doc's rant and raves...
Quick hits:
- Starting to brainstorm for next year. I will be coming to a team meeting soon to discuss/share some plans. Your feedback will help in developing our SAP for next year.
- If you have something cool going on in class and would like either Misty or I to see, please send us an invite. We love to go and see all the things happening in your room.
- There are several people on this list who have not entered anything, but I believe you have attended various times. Please make sure to get it entered. Don't forget to keep track of your extra event attendance. Please remember everyone is expected to attend one PTA Meeting this year plus 2 additional events: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1xru7fuenf01e2mb01wCoQhbrDw_zVEI_wImMFI7wA1g/edit?usp=sharing

FROM MISTY
April Newsletter's will be in boxes today. Don't forget to connect with me today to schedule Math IC's, here is the rubric for your review.
In the article below, "The key to Effective Classroom Management" they reported, " In classrooms where teachers used a series of techniques centered around establishing, maintaining, and restoring relationships, academic engagement increased by 33 percent and disruptive behavior decreased by 75 percent—making the time students spent in the classroom more worthwhile and productive." Your investment pays off! Even when students are struggling to get a long with each other and sometimes "we just want to pull the car over on this long journey", the relationships support your win! I noticed awesome classroom conversations and engagement happening this week, check out the pictures below!
The May Newsletter is in draft, please let me know of any important information or dates that need to be added.

EOY Assessments (MAP and iReady)
*I believe Dr. Meador sent this out in an email previously as well.
- All grades 3-8 will test 4/23/19 - 5/10/19
- ELA will test the first week
- 4/23/19 - 4/26/19
- Math will test second week (including 8th grade Algebra I EOC)
- 4/30/19 - 5/3/19
- Science 5th & 8th grade will test the 3rd week
- 5/7/19 - 5/10/19
- District testing window will close on 5/10/19
- Testing will take place in the mornings
- Buildings will need to be flexible with daily building schedules
- No testing on Mondays
- Meaningful breaks will be provided to students between testing sessions
- Science scores will count towards APR this year
- i-Ready EOY testing start date for grades 3-8
- 5/6/19 - grades 3, 4, 6, & 7 begin testing
- 5/13/19 - grades 5 & 8 begin testing
- Make up sessions & SPED will be flexible to test outside the schedule outline above, due to time constraints for students with IEP/504 accommodations
Each building will be required to submit an official testing schedule that will be shared with students, parents and district staff and posted in your building. Dave Whitham will provide the schedule details and procedure to building STCs.
All students should begin practicing the online MAP testing tools. Students, parents and teachers can access these tools through this open link using Google Chrome:
By practicing these tools early and often, students will become familiar with the online tool requirements of the test and the barrier of technology is removed, which will increase student performance on the assessments.
