Wildcat Weekly

Principal's desk:
Greetings Wayne Thomas Family,
Happy Friday! Next week your child will partake in our NWEA MAP assessment. These are computer adaptive tests, which means every student gets a unique set of test questions based on responses to previous questions. The purpose of the MAP growth assessment is to determine what the student knows and is ready to learn next.
We will conclude these assessments next week, and send home parent reports prior to winter break.
Thank you!
Mr. Rodrigo
Mrs. Goodrich

NWEA Testing
Students will be taking the assessments Monday through Wednesday, with make-ups being held on Thursday and Friday. Your child's classroom teacher will provide more information about specific days and times in their newsletters.
Headphones for K-1
Kindergarten and First grade students need to have a pair of headphones for MAP testing. Please make sure that your child has a set of headphones ready for testing next week.
Innovation Learning Winter Enrichments
We are excited to offer new enrichment opportunities for the winter semester. Registration is open now, so please take a few minutes to use the QR code which will take you to the school's webpage for Innovation Learning. This is a resource for all important elements, such as registering/enrolling for the program, flyers, and the enrichment catalog. On the site, scroll down to locate the Enrichment Catalog button to view our catalog and see the different class descriptions, grade levels, times and costs associated with each class. Once you have decided on which of our wonderful enrichments your child will participate in, you can register at EZChild Track.

TREX PLASTIC BAG & WRAP RECYCLING PROGRAM
Did you know that you cannot recycle plastic bags and wrap with your everyday recycling (that gets picked up by our local waste management company)? These materials require special processing in order to be recycled. Wayne Thomas is proud to partner with Trex Company to make this process easier for all of us to execute.
Please bring in CLEAN & DRY (no bags with food - if they've had food in them they must be rinsed and dry) and drop in the bin in the front vestibule. You can double check the magnets that were sent home for what items are acceptable.
